The multiple choice part of the test is delivered using a touch screen computer and the Hazard perception part records your response via the mouse button.You will have to pass both parts on the same day to be successful. Before the tests starts you will be given instructions on how the test works, you can also go through a practice session to get use to the layout of the test.

A question and several answers will appear on screen you will need to select the correct answer or answers by touching the screen.

For the Car test you will be asked 50 questions in 57 minutes and the pass mark is 43 out of 50. If you are not sure about any questions you can flag that question and return to it later on in the test.

You may then take a 3 minute break before the Hazard Perception test starts, you will be shown a short video clip about how the test works.

The test will have 14 video clips delivered to your computer you have to respond by clicking the mouse as the hazard develops the earlier you click the more points you will score the highest being 5 the lowest 1 and remember 1 clip from the 14 will feature 2 scoring hazards.If you click to many times you will be warned that if you continue you will score 0 points for that clip. You will not be able to review your answers.

The pass mark for cars is 44 out of 75.

When you have completed the test you may leave the exam room you may not enter the room again. You will then be given your result by a member of staff.

Your Theory test Certificate will last for 2 years if you do not pass your practical in that time you will have to re-sit the theory again.

The Coventry Theory Test Centre is situated above Newman's the Estate Agents the entrance door is situated down the side of the building press the inter-com to be buzzed up to the 1st floor.

If you travel by train, Head for the Town Centre via the underpass as you walk through the park towards the main road the Test Centre is in front of you.
